ACNS is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of all information accessed while delivering workforce services to aged care providers and community organisations.
- Privacy & Confidentiality
ACNS workers handle personal and health information responsibly and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Aged Care Act 2024 (Cth).
All staff are required to maintain strict confidentiality.
2. Host Provider Information
When ACNS workers are engaged by your organisation, all client records and information remain the property of the host provider.
Workers will not copy, retain or remove provider records unless authorised.
3. Documentation Standards
ACNS workers ensure documentation is:
Clear, accurate and completed promptly
Recorded according to host-provider procedures
Entered only into authorised systems.
4. Responsible Information Sharing
Information is shared only when necessary for service delivery, workforce management or regulatory requirements, and always in accordance with privacy legislation and contractual agreements.
5. Incident Transparency
ACNS supports open communication when incidents occur and works with host providers to ensure appropriate reporting and investigation processes are followed.
6. Cyber Security
ACNS protects digital information through secure systems, controlled access and cyber security awareness for all workers.
Suspected data breaches are managed according to national privacy requirements.
7. Working Within Your Organisation
ACNS workers must follow the policies, procedures and documentation requirements of the host organisation when providing services within facilities or community programs.
By working with ACNS, all personnel agree to uphold these standards and support safe, respectful care for every client.
